I looked at DISC, Thomas International, Myers Briggs and SHL.
They all have something to offer so I had to come up with a method of evaluation that left me in no doubt as to which system I was going to use.

What To Look For?
I wanted a system that I could use for various things including recruitment. That ruled out Myers Briggs as they do not allow you to use it in recruitment.
I wanted something that was quick to set up and use. I don't know about you but I don';t have time to go away for days to learn how to use some software.
This ruled out both Thomas International and SHL, both of which have pretty intensive training requirements. They don't tell you that up front but to be able to make sense of the reports, you need to do the training.
I also wanted something I could operate from my smartphone as I do so much travelling. The only system that was truly smartphone friendly was PeopleMaps.
So it was a pretty easy conclusion in the end.
If you are a manager in a business then you need to understand the people you work with and the people you are thinking to hire. Unless you have some mind reading ability then you should get all the help you can and you should therefore be using a personality profiler.
